Our adventure expeditions are available to hotel guests as well as visitors. To schedule a tour or request additional information about adventures at Borinquen, please fill-out the reservations form at the bottom of this page. The following adventure expeditions are currently available:
A unique experience! Soar above the tree tops over one of the lushest tropical forests in Guanacaste. The trip to the first platform can be done on horses or with our Off-Road Vehicle. The tour ends across from the stables in the hotel premises. Approximate duration: 2:00 hours 2 in 1 Mystery Waterfall / Borinquen Canopy Adventure
Take advantage of our two in one adventure package! Start the day with a ride over the mountain followed by an invigorating hike to the Mystery Waterfall. On your way back raise your adrenaline levels with a flight over the tree-tops on our exciting 10 cable canopy zip-lines and smoothly return to your starting point in the hotel premises. The trip to the first platform can be done on horses or with our Off-Road Vehicle. The canopy zip-lines ends directly at the stable in the hotel premises. Approximate duration: 3:45 hours Forget about science class and live the real thing! Feel the excitement of visiting a millenary primary forest and witness the amazing diversity of mammals, birds, butterflies and much more that inhabit this privileged land. This tour is available on ATV or horses. Approximate duration: 1:30 to 3 hours Price: ATV: $60.00 for riders over 16 years old A journey through the mountain and the forest. Enjoy a wonderful view of Guanacaste’s Pacific Coast, pass by the Hidden Waterfall on your way to the magical Mystery Waterfall and relax and cool down by the crystal clear waters. The expedition to the Mystery Waterfall is available on ATV and horses. Some hiking required to reach to waterfall site. Approximate duration: 2:45 hours Venture across our 500 hectare primary forest until reaching the surprising viewpoint from where you will admire the Orosí and Rincón de la Vieja Volcanoes, the Gulf of Nicoya and Playas del Coco, then continue your expedition past the herd of Asian water buffalos on a natural habitat. This tour is available on ATV or horses. Rincon de la Vieja Crater Adventure
Discover the magnificent beauty of the world-famous Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park. Cross rivers, and hills on the way to the park, enjoy beautiful views and cross small charming towns. Upon arrival to the Park you will have three options, to take the trail to the Main Crater, the trail “Las Pailas” or the famous “Volcancito” (small volcano) trail. There are also posibilities to visit one of the splendid waterfalls such was Laguna Azul (Blue Lagoon). Rincón de la Vieja National Park is a very special place that offers abundant vegetation. During the dry season a wide variety of trees lose their leaves and bloom in different colors and when the rains begin everything turns as green as in the rain-forest. The volcano is active, and its hills are covered with both wet and dry forests that hide lakes, rivers, waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife. This Adventure Expedition includes access fee to the Park, lunch and guide. This tour is available by Mini-Van. Please take in consideration that vehicles can only come to the entrance of the park. The distance to the crater is a of hike a few miles. Approximate duration: 6 to 8 hours This half-day expedition will take you across and over the mountainside to ride the waters of the Colorado River. This is a fun and at the same time exciting class II/III river (look-up in Wikipedia) that will get your adrenaline going. This Adventure Expedition includes access fees, lunch at Canyon de la Vieja and transportation. This tour is available by Mini-Van. Duration: 1/2 Day This half-day expedition is the adventure of a life-time. Ride the zip-lines, practice rappel, experience the Tarzan swing, try rock-climbing... there is too much to name it all! Live an extreme adrenaline rush. This Adventure Expedition includes access fee to adventure park, lunch at Hacienda Guachipelín and transportation. Duration: 1 Day This tour is available by Mini-Van.
