Lovely lovely

The Hotel Borinquen was just lovely. My husband and I spent the first two nights of our honeymoon there. When we stayed at the hotel during the rainy season plus there was a tropical depression in Honduras which caused a lot of rain but we enjoyed our stay anyway. We rented a car from Liberia airport and drove up there. The drive was an adventure. At one point there was a "river" running over the road but it wasn't that deep.
The spa was next to the river and we got the couples massage package called the Land of Eden. It included a Jasmine aromatheraphy bath and the massages. The restaurant was lovely and reminded us of a mix between a ski lodge and a tropical hut. The food was amazing. We arranged, through the hotel to do the canopy tour. The canopy tour included horseback riding up to the first platform. Since we got to the stable, on site, about 20 minutes early and our zipline guides hadn't arrived yet, the horseback riding guide took us up to the top of the mountain where we could see the Pacific coast and Nicaragua. It was beautiful. It was one of the most exciting events I have ever experienced.
